Das Ziel des Green New Deal ist es, eine „soziale und ökologische Transformation unserer Wirtschaft“ anzustoßen (Giegold und Mack 2012, S. 40). Doch inwieweit werden bei der sozialen Transformation auch feministische Anliegen mitgedacht?
Im Angesicht der Klimakrise und der Fridays-for-Future-Proteste hat das Netzwerk Plurale Ökonomik unter #Economists4Future dazu aufgerufen, Impulse für neues ökonomisches Denken zu setzen und bislang wenig beachtete Aspekte der Klimaschutzdebatte in den Fokus zu rücken. Dabei geht es beispielsweise um den Umgang mit Unsicherheiten und Komplexität sowie um Existenzgrundlagen und soziale Konflikte. Außerdem werden vielfältige Wege hin zu einer klimafreundlichen Wirtschaftsweise diskutiert – unter anderem Konzepte eines europäischen Green New Deals oder Ansätze einer Postwachstumsökonomie. Zum Auftakt des alljährlichen Wirtschaftstreffen in Davos im Januar 2020 trägt dieser 20-minütige Beitrag dazu bei, die Entwicklung vom Stakeholder-Kapitalismus hin zum Shareholder-Kapitalismus besser nachvollziehen zu können. Der Blick in die Geschichte, unterstützt mit Beispielen und Interviews, hilft dabei, die aktuelle prekäre wirtschaftliche Lage von Unternehmen wie die der Deutschen Bank und von General Electric zu verstehen. Am Ende des Beitrages wird die amerikanische Initiative (die B-Corporations), als Beispiel für eine sozialere und ökologischere Wirtschaftsweise mit mehr Verantwortung zum Allgemeinwohl vorgestellt.
Eine kritische Transformative Wissenschaft dagegen müsste eine Vielfalt unterschiedlicher Transformationsverständnisse und -ziele zulassen. Transformative Wissenschaft wäre dann eine Plattform, auf der kritische Stränge der Natur- und Ingenieurs- sowie der Sozial- und Geisteswissenschaften sich begegnen und unterschiedliche Veränderungsvorstellungen diskutieren können. Dazu zählt auch ein kapitalismus- und herrschaftskritisches Transformationsverständnis.
Weite Teile der vorherrschenden Ökonomik haben Bewegungen wie „Fridays for Futures“ oder „Extinction Rebellion“ kaum relevantes Wissen anzubieten. Dies liegt vor allem an einem ideologisch verengten Blick auf das, was als ökonomisch bezeichnet wird, sowie den daraus resultierenden Maßnahmen. Märkte gelten in der vorherrschenden VWL als Synonym für Ökonomie.
Um der Klimakrise zu begegnen, müssen wir unsere Art zu wirtschaften radikal verändern. Ein großes Hindernis auf diesem Weg könnte die vorherrschende ökonomische Theorie sein. Denn der neoklassischen Wirtschaftswissenschaft ist es methodisch unmöglich, alternative Wirtschaftsformen abzubilden. Außerdem führt sie zu Politikempfehlungen, die systematisch die Möglichkeit einer Postwachstumswirtschaft ausblenden.

In diesem Beitrag zeige ich, wie Bildung zu einer wesentlichen Quelle für eine solche Gestaltung werden kann. Damit beziehe ich mich insbesondere auf die höhere Bildung, also das Studium an Hochschulen und Universitäten und wende mich exemplarisch den Anliegen und Aktivitäten der Cusanus Hochschule zu.
